GREENSBORO, N.C.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Guerrilla RF announces today that Sam Funchess joined the company January 3rd as Vice President of Investor Relations. In this new position, Funchess is responsible for communicating the vision and value of GRF’s transformation with its new shareholders and the financial community – a critical role for the company as it recently completed its transactions for becoming publicly traded.
“We’re delighted to welcome Sam to the GRF family,” says Ryan Pratt, founder and CEO of Guerrilla RF. “Sam has been a passionate advocate for the company since our earliest engagements with the Nussbaum Center, and his adept support and guidance as a board member have been instrumental in GRF’s incredible growth and overall success. Given Sam’s deep history with Guerrilla RF and his extensive background in promoting young companies, I can think of no other candidate that could fill this role better. We look forward to his leadership as we continue to drive GRF to ever greater levels of success.”
Funchess was most recently the President and CEO of the Nussbaum Center for Entrepreneurship, Inc., a private non-profit business incubator whose mission is to reduce small business failures. Guerrilla RF fully supports the mission of the Nussbaum Center, and it recognizes the impact that Funchess has on the Center’s continued success. As such, Funchess will continue as the Center’s CEO to help guide the organization on its strategic priorities.
Funchess has also served as one of Guerrilla RF’s founding board members since 2014. During his seven-year tenure, he helped to guide the company through multiple rounds of fundraising as it grew from a small startup to a publicly traded firm with over 60 employees. Funchess has since relinquished his duties as a board member as part of his transition to the Vice President of Investor Relations role.
Funchess holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Guilford College where he double majored in Accounting and Management.
