Urban Land Institute New York Accepting Submissions For 2021 Awards For Excellence

Innovative development projects that transform the status quo can be submitted through April 9

Urban Land Institute New York (ULI NY) has announced that submissions for the 2021 ULI New York Awards for Excellence in Development are now open through April 9, 2021. Winners will be announced at the highly anticipated Sixth Annual Awards for Excellence Gala on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at Cipriani Wall StreetAmy Rose, President & Chief Executive Officer, Rose Associates, and Richard Kessler, Chief Operating Officer, Benenson Capital Partners, LLC, have been named as co-chairs for the awards and gala.

The coveted Awards for Excellence in Development is a statewide contest that acknowledges real estate leaders whose projects change the way the industry and the wider public think about planning, design, sustainability, resilience and community impact. The Awards are open to ULI members and non-members across all industry sectors that have worked on private, public and non-profit projects. Applications may be submitted for projects located anywhere within New York State, except Westchester County, which is part of ULI Westchester-Fairfield. To qualify, a project must be completed, in whole or in phases, on or after January 1, 2016 and it must be open and in operation for its intent and purpose by April 1, 2021.

“The ULI New York Awards for Excellence recognize the projects that move the industry forward and change the conversation about the built environment in New York through responsible land use and growth,” said Brian Collins, Chair of ULI New York. “This year has presented a new set of challenges and we’re excited to honor the innovators that have lifted up New York and its development community with inspiring projects.”

The Awards Committee and Awards Jury comprise ULI New York members across the spectrum of New York real estate, including owners, developers, investors, architects, urban planners, construction managers and lenders.
