Developed by American Land Ventures, completion expected in 2022
Coastal Construction has been selected as the general contractor for 334 (RENDERING ATTACHED), a new residential tower in downtown St. Petersburg. The 24-story project by developer American Land Ventures will include 220 upscale residences with luxurious amenities. Completion is expected in late 2022.
“The decision to select Coastal Construction was an easy one. Their willingness to develop the GMP with transparency, and their reputation of quality built projects, made them the obvious choice.” said David Fellows, Vice President of Construction at American Land Ventures. “Coastal has built some of the state’s most iconic high rises, from the Porsche Design Tower in Miami to the Surfside Four Seasons Hotel at the Surf Club.”
Groundbreaking for 334, located at 334 2nd Ave. South in St. Petersburg, is scheduled for March.
“We are excited to team up with American Land Ventures, and we are thrilled to build a major residential tower in beautiful downtown St. Petersburg,” said Coastal Construction Central Florida President Craig Klingensmith. “The city is so vibrant and its future is very bright and full of opportunities. We hope this is the first of many projects for us in the community.”
334 gets under way as downtown St. Petersburg continues to blossom as a livable, pedestrian-friendly urban environment. The number of residents living downtown grew by 52 percent, or more than 6,800 residents, between 2015 and 2019. The number of residential units downtown grew by nearly a third over the last two years, and another 950 units are under construction.
“This project will be a wonderful addition to St. Petersburg and provide opportunities for even more residents to live, work and play in our vibrant downtown,” St. Petersburg Mayor Rick Kriseman said. “It’s an ideal location for residents eager to be within walking distance to restaurants and museums — and they also will be able buy groceries, fill prescriptions and attend to other necessities without ever starting their car.”
At 250-feet tall, 334 will rank among the tallest residential buildings west of the Beach Drive area and in the downtown core.
Recently, Coastal Construction completed work on the new JW Marriott as part of Water Street Tampa. Coastal Construction served as the general contractor on the new 519-room luxury hotel. The company is also the general contractor on two other Water Street Tampa projects, including the Heron, a dual-tower building located at the intersection of Channelside Drive and Water Street in downtown Tampa.
A privately owned company, Coastal Construction is one of the largest general contractors in the Southeast with offices in Miami, Orlando, Tampa and West Palm Beach.
