Colleen Smith, Artistic and Executive Director of Ballet Palm Beach, the professional ballet company of Palm Beach County, today announced that Karl Ruppert is the new chairman of Ballet Palm Beach’s Board of Directors.
Ruppert has nearly 30 years of financial advising experience. He joined UBS in 2010 and is Managing Director and South Florida Complex Director at UBS Private Wealth Management, overseeing 28 teams throughout South Florida as they provide ultra-high-net-worth clientele with access to UBS’ insights and capabilities. He graduated with a B.S. degree from American University in Washington, D.C.
“I am honored to have been named as chairman of Ballet Palm Beach,” states Ruppert. “The importance of the performing arts goes far beyond the sheer enjoyment that viewers derive. It touches us in a way that elevates the human experience and can have lasting beneficial effects.”
In addition, Ruppert has enjoyed working with nonprofits such as Habitat for Humanity, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and his local food bank. He is a mixed martial arts enthusiast and is a black belt in Tae Kwon Do. Ruppert and his wife, Michele, have two children, Kendall and Alex.
