Greysteel, a national commercial real estate investment services firm, announced the promotion of Henry Mathies to Senior Managing Director. Mr. Mathies’ most recent title was Managing Director, and he works out of the Greysteel Washington, D.C. office.
Mr. Mathies co-leads the National Affordable Housing Investment Sales Practice, providing services to our clients throughout the East Coast region. In his newly minted position, Mr. Mathies will help drive the long-term strategic vision for the Affordable Housing Practice on a national basis. This includes arranging sales and financing for institutional, middle-market, and private client multifamily properties, primarily emphasizing the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) and Project-Based Subsidy sector.
Since joining Greysteel in late-2018, Mr. Mathies has been instrumental in the growth of the Affordable Housing Practice, not just in sales volume but also in the group’s geographical footprint.2021 was a banner year for Mr. Mathies; he played a critical role in acquiring the Colliers Affordable Housing team; he was named an “Annual Top Broker” by Connect Media and was recently named a Greysteel Presidents Club participant.

Mr. Mathies received his B.A. in Political Science from Duke University, his Masters of Finance from Tulane University, and his M.B.A. from Georgetown University.
