NEW YORK–(BUSINESS WIRE)–DiCello Levitt Gutzler today announced a dramatic expansion of its national plaintiffs’ antitrust and competition practice with the addition of six litigators. The team, all based in New York, includes Gregory Asciolla, Karin Garvey, Robin A. van der Meulen, and Matthew Perez as partners, as well as Veronica Bosco and Jonathan Crevier as associates. They will join the firm on March 7.
Their addition immediately positions DiCello Levitt among the nation’s premier antitrust and competition litigation practice groups, while significantly expanding the firm’s presence in New York and increasing its overall attorney headcount by 15%. Given DiCello Levitt’s existing strengths in the technology industry – including lead roles in several of the largest data privacy cases in U.S. history, which helped earn it Law360 Cybersecurity & Privacy Group of the Year honors in 2021 and 2022 – this group is a natural fit within the firm’s strategic growth objectives. The move also comes at a time when antitrust, particularly in the technology sector, is one of the hottest areas of law.
“Given our core strengths, we have long believed that playing a significant role in the plaintiffs’ antitrust bar is a natural and important progression for our firm,” said Adam Levitt, the firm’s co-managing partner. “However, we only wanted to do so if we were able to maintain the same high standards we have always set for ourselves and for our clients. That meant only bringing in top-tier attorneys, as we are fortunate to have done with this group. Moreover, the strength of our expanded antitrust practice, combined with the virtually unmatched pedigree of our technology and cybersecurity practice group and our award-winning trial practice, will place DiCello Levitt at the crest of the wave in leading these important cases.”
“When we began our discussions with DiCello Levitt, we were immediately drawn to its diverse mix of practice areas and collaborative culture that is hard to find,” said Asciolla, who will lead DiCello Levitt’s antitrust and competition litigation practice. “Our team has achieved a tremendous amount together, and the opportunity DiCello Levitt presented – to do the highest quality of work as part of a cohesive, fast-growing, dynamic, national platform – was exactly what we wanted for the future of our practice.”
Greg Gutzler, managing partner of DiCello Levitt’s New York office added: “It’s a huge compliment to DiCello Levitt that we have attracted such a talented team of antitrust lawyers. There are very few plaintiffs’ firms out there positioned to do what we are doing here. This group will significantly enhance our diversified but tightly integrated practice areas.”
