Fiske & Company, a boutique accounting, financial forensics, and litigation consulting firm, announced Forensic and Valuation Services Manager Gino Capece has been awarded the CFE designation from the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
Capece has more than 25 years of experience as a corporate controller, financial consultant operational controller and financial forensics expert. At Fiske & Company, his practice focuses on managing litigation and forensic accounting engagements. He also works closely with attorneys, corporations, and entrepreneurs as a financial and forensics expert, conducting investigations to identify fraud and finding and recovering funds.

According to the Association, CFEs have a unique set of skills, combining knowledge of complex financial transactions with an understanding of methods, law, and how to resolve allegations of fraud. The CFE process focuses on four bodies of knowledge critical to the fight against fraud: Financial Transactions and Fraud Schemes, Law, Investigation, and Fraud Prevention and Deterrence. It goes on to say, the Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) credential denotes proven expertise in fraud prevention, detection and deterrence. CFEs are trained to identify the warning signs and red flags that indicate evidence of fraud and fraud risk.
Most recently, Capece and his team have been handling several multi-million-dollar cases involving criminal fraud, Ponzi schemes, lost profits, lost wages, trade secrets, misappropriation of funds and skimming. He also provides temporary CFO services to a number of the firm’s clients.
He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from St. John Fisher College in Rochester, New York.
