Key Tech today announced that CEO Jenny Regan will be retiring effective August 31, 2022 and that Alex Flamm, Key Tech’s VP of Strategy, will succeed her as CEO. Jenny has served as Key Tech’s CEO since co-founding the company in 1998. She will join the Key Tech Advisory Board and will continue to support the ongoing leadership transition. Jenny is also looking forward to MedTech board service in retirement.
During her tenure along with her co-founders, Jenny has grown the company from a handful of people to its current team of 75 interdisciplinary medical product designers, serving hundreds of medical technology clients including industry giants such as Becton Dickinson, GE, and Thermo Fisher, and startup superstars like HemoSonics, GenMark, and Abiomed. Jenny also led Key Tech’s transition to a fully employee-owned company in 2019. “I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve built and how much good we’ve been able to do. I’m confident in our new leadership and will always be inspired by the talent and care shown by our whole team.”
“We are profoundly grateful for Jenny’s leadership and her commitment to Key Tech and our clients over the past 24 years,” said Scott Corey, co-founder and member of the Executive Committee. “Under her leadership, Key Tech has brought hundreds of new medical technologies to patients worldwide, from clinical diagnostics to home healthcare wearables. I’m excited to continue working with Alex and our Executive Committee as we lead Key Tech to further technology discovery and commercialization.”
Alex Flamm currently serves as VP of Strategy and is a member of the Executive Committee. Since joining Key Tech in 2007, Alex has contributed to strategic development across all of Key Tech’s operations. Advancing quickly from design team member to Senior Engineer and then Program Manager, Alex was also instrumental in establishing Key Tech’s Usability Engineering Program and in growing and developing the Industrial Design team. Alex’s experience has provided him broad exposure to the ways Key Tech meets the needs of clients, and he continues to identify opportunities to grow Key Tech in areas that are meaningful to both Key Tech’s employee-owners and clients.
“It is a tremendous honor to have been given the opportunity to lead Key Tech,” Alex said. “I thank Jenny for her mentorship, and I plan to continue her tradition of service to the company and Key Tech’s employee-owners. I’ll be working with our Executive Committee, Partner Group, and our entire team to continue Key Tech’s legacy of success, focusing on maintaining the culture established over decades while carefully driving strategic change. I’m excited to see the ways in which Key Tech grows as we continue to solve our clients’ toughest product development challenges and nurture our long-standing client relationships.”
