P.F. Chang’s Bistro and Lupe Tortilla Mexican Restaurants are under construction in NewQuest Properties’ Creekside Town Center in New Braunfels, a regional destination with a second-place standing for the highest customer visits in the state.

“New Braunfels is growing at such a rapid pace that it’s become a must location for chains like P.F. Chang’s and Lupe’s,” says Nick Ramsey, senior associate of Houston-based NewQuest Properties. He and Kevin Sims, vice president, partner on the leasing of Creekside Town Center.
NewQuest’s regional center boasts one million sf of built space, with ample room for another 750,000 sf. According to Placer.ai, Creekside Town Center draws nearly 6.7 million visitors annually, second only to The Rim in San Antonio.
“P.F, Chang’s will be a great amenity for the shopping center. It’s another strong national brand for our restaurant row,” Ramsey says. “These new tenants clearly will round out our existing offerings for Asian and Tex Mex cuisines.”
The renowned P.F. Chang’s was the first multi-unit restaurant concept in the U.S. to use wok cooking as the focal point of the dining experience when it launched in 1993. Each location features scratch-cooking, hand-chopped and sliced vegetables, hand-rolled dim sum and wok-cooked dishes. Based in Scottsdale, Ariz., the chain has more than 210 domestic locations, including airports, and nearly 100 in at least 25 countries.
Lupe Tortilla was launched in 1983 by Stan Holt in a 1940s frame house about 20 miles west of Houston in the small town of Addicks. The Tex-Mex chain has grown to more than 20 locations in its native city, Austin, Dallas/Fort Worth and San Antonio. It specializes in authentic, made-from-scratch dishes.
Creekside Town Center will boast 16 restaurants with the opening of P.F. Chang’s and Lupe Tortilla – and there’s room for more in the NewQuest project, which is strategically situated midway between Austin and San Antonio. Among its accolades is recognition as the largest retail center in New Braunfels and Placer.ai’s ranking as the second most-visited center in the state.
“Creekside’s location along I-35 has exponentially broadened its trade area in Central Texas. It’s a fact that hasn’t gone unnoticed by the retail industry,” Ramsey says.

PF Chang’s has ground-leased a one-acre retail pad site in Creekside Town Center, located at the intersection of Interstate 35 and FM 306, New Braunfels, from NewQuest Properties. Texas Mattress Makers has leased 6,825 sf of retail space in Brazos Town Center, located at the intersection of Interstate 69/US Hwy. 59 and FM 762, Rosenberg, from NewQuest Properties.
