It appears Charm City has charmed many members of Generation Z as Baltimore ranked 16th among cities that saw the greatest rise in “Gen Z” renters in 2021, according to a study by apartment search and rental payment platform RentCafe.
RentCafe analyzed 3.2 million rental applications from January-October 2021 and January-October 2020, sourced from RentGrow Inc. Gen Z is defined as people born between 1997 and 2012.
The study found Baltimore experienced a 35% increase in the percentage of “Zoomers” who moved into a new apartment in 2021.
