McCarter & English, LLP has announced that Sarah Schaeffer-Roth has joined the firm’s Product Liability practice in New York as a partner. With extensive experience in asbestos and talc litigation, she defends Fortune 500 and multinational companies in a variety of industries against complex tort suits as both national coordinating counsel and local counsel.
“Sarah adds tremendous depth to our Products practice, both in New York and nationally,” said Catherine Mohan, chair of McCarter’s Products Liability, Mass Torts and Consumer Class Actions practice. “She is a highly regarded attorney and can handle any kind of products case, but her mass-tort experience and superior advocacy skills and will be especially valuable to our clients.”

Ms. Schaeffer-Roth has represented mass torts defendants from various industries, including cosmetics, luxury goods, chemicals, industrial machinery, and building materials as well as premises owners. She has worked with clients on various complex commercial litigation matters at both the trial and appellate levels.
Ms. Schaeffer-Roth will also take an active role in McCarter’spro bono matters. She has served as an advocate for victims of domestic violence in a multitude of proceedings andalso assisted in a successful political asylum case.
Ms. Schaeffer-Roth received her J.D. from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, aBachelor of Arts, cum laude, from Binghamton University, SUNY, and a Certificat de Civilization Française from Université Paris-Sorbonne. She is a native French speaker, born in Switzerland. Ms. Schaeffer-Roth is admitted to the New York State Bar.
