Mike Davis Rejoins Scotland Wright Associates As Partner and Director Of Community Initiatives

Davis Brings Tenant Representation Expertise and Passion for Under-Resourced Communities to Thriving Firm

Mike Davis has returned to Scotland Wright Associates (SWA) as the Atlanta-based tenant representation firm’s newest partner and first director of community initiatives. In his new role, Davis will lead client transactions, support business development and drive the firm’s community involvement strategy.

A former member of the SWA team from 2014 to 2017, Davis founded Nucleus Capital in 2018, a successful tenant representation firm focused on clients positively impacting their communities. After three years developing a strong client base in Atlanta and beyond, the time was right for Davis to rejoin SWA’s team.

“Mike’s professional expertise combined with his passion for serving the community made welcoming him back to the firm — this time as a partner — an easy decision,” said Michael Tucker, managing partner, SWA. “We are confident that our team, clients and community will benefit from his leadership, knowledge and experience.”

Despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and its challenges, SWA’s client pipeline is at a historic high, pointing to continued future growth and the need for a strong fifth partner. Simultaneously, Davis’ transactions at Nucleus Capital reached the volume and complexity that he recognized the advantages a team would offer.

“Rejoining SWA means their clients and mine — now our clients — benefit from diversity of thought,” said Davis. “There is no other group of Atlanta-based, senior-level tenant reps working as a collaborative unit on transactions. SWA’s team model sets us apart in terms of the value we offer clients. Plus, I am thrilled to tap into my personal passion for giving back as I shape SWA’s community impact strategy.”

A dedication to community service has long defined the team at SWA. Having invested their time, treasure and talent as individuals for many years, the firm’s partners are taking another step by utilizing Davis’ expertise to formalize their collective strategy for maximum community impact. Davis’ first order of business is developing a strategic plan for the short, mid and long term, focused on Atlanta’s under-resourced communities.

“I first met Mike when he was a student at Georgia State University, completing his undergrad studies in three years and earning his MBA in another two — all while a student-athlete,” said Scotland Wright, president and founder of SWA. “I was impressed off the bat, and my respect for him has only grown over the past seven years. With Mike as a partner, our team is stronger today than ever before, and he will help guide our firm in the years ahead.”

Davis lives in Atlanta’s West End with his wife, Kristian, and daughter, Laila. They are active members of Cornerstone Church, where Davis volunteers on the Missions Leadership Team, facilitating partnerships with local nonprofits, businesses and other churches for collective community impact. He also serves on the board of Peace Preparatory Academy in English Avenue. Davis holds a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master of Business Administration from Georgia State University, as well as a Certificate of Distinction Leading with Finance from Harvard Business School.
