Tishman Speyer CEO Rob Speyer today announced that the firm has hired Andy Burke to serve as Managing Director, Head of Industrial. In the newly-created position, Burke will lead Tishman Speyer’s efforts in the industrial sector globally, focusing initially on acquisition and development opportunities throughout the U.S.
Burke joins Tishman Speyer from Terreno Realty Corporation, where he oversaw acquisitions, development, asset management and operations of industrial properties in New York, New Jersey, San Francisco, Seattle and Washington D.C. Over the course of his 14 years at the firm, he originated or executed over 100 industrial transactions valued in excess of $1.5 billion and managed a 13 million-square-foot portfolio of buildings and land.
Burke’s hiring follows the December 2021 launch of Tishman Speyer’s industrial property platform with the acquisition of two “middle mile” Amazon distribution centers in Colorado and Pennsylvania.
“As we continue to diversify our business, we recognized that the industrial sector is ripe with opportunities,” said Rob Speyer. “Andy’s proven experience and knowledge will accelerate our growth in this area. I am thrilled to have him on board.”
“I look forward to working with my new colleagues to broaden Tishman Speyer’s global platform into the industrial sector,” said Andy Burke. “The firm’s reputation in the industry speaks for itself, and I am confident that my results-driven approach will have a meaningful impact on the business.”
Prior to his time at Terreno, Burke was Vice President of Perseus Realty Partners, where he was responsible for originating and managing joint venture investments in the Eastern U.S. Earlier, he spent time in AMB Property Corp’s International Transaction Group and Sun Microsystems’ Venture & Strategic Investments Group.
Burke earned a BA and Certificate from Duke University. He is a member of NAIOP and ULI.
