Weekly Yoga Returns to Uptown Atlanta in the Reimagined Atrium

Beginning May 18, the mixed-use destination welcomes the community for free yoga, music, swag and more

Uptown Atlanta, the 47-acre mixed-use destination surrounding the Lindbergh MARTA station, today announces the return of weekly yoga with “Namaste Day” on May 18, this time hosted in the recently transformed office atrium. Uptown will host weekly complimentary yoga classes every Wednesday through September. Free event registration is now open.

In celebration of Namaste Day and the return of Yoga at Uptown, the community is invited to experience a guided yoga class in the reimagined atrium from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Guests can enjoy flows led by Priscilla Baptista, a local, certified instructor from Catalyst Fitness. DJ Marodin Music will spin live beats throughout the class.

Namaste Day also marks the return of Uptown’s Yoga loyalty card program in which yogis can earn free branded swag, such as water bottles, totes and tank tops. Guests are welcome to bring their card from last season or start a new one. Yoga at Uptown is always free and open to the public, but guests are encouraged to register in advance. Yoga at Uptown is BYOM (bring your own mat). Future classes will be held every Wednesday on a weekly basis, with more details about special surprises and vendors to come.

“We can’t wait to invite the community to experience Namaste Day and other unique events we have planned for this year in our new and improved atrium,”  said Mahesh Mani, senior vice president of asset management at Rubenstein Partners. “The atrium is a wonderful addition to Uptown’s energetic and modern environment and we look forward to advancing our vision of creating a lively, connected destination for Atlantans.”

This season, classes will be hosted in the reimagined atrium, a 35,000-square-foot space within Uptown’s office towers. Yoga in the Atrium is an exciting opportunity to experience Uptown’s redevelopment while the former location, The Lawn, undergoes a transformation. The atrium features abundant natural lighting and the capacity to accommodate up 300 to 400 people for events. It includes elevated amenities such as a massive LED screen, coffee shop and wine bar, gaming center, golf simulator, second-story conference space and state-of-the-art fitness center. This renovation atrium comes as part of Rubenstein Partners’ ongoing redevelopment of Uptown into a vibrant and modern mixed-use community.

About Uptown

Uptown is a hyper-accessible, 47-acre mixed-use community that brings the best of Atlanta together. As the largest mixed-use development in Atlanta to connect directly with MARTA and the city’s major pedestrian trails, such as the forthcoming Atlanta BeltLine and the South Fork Trail, Uptown combines 110,000 square feet of street-level retail, greenspace and art and one million square feet of Class A office space. Uptown is being redeveloped by private real estate investment management and advisory firm Rubenstein Partners, LP (Rubenstein). Redevelopment plans include upgrading building facades, streetscapes and greenspaces; activating the property with local retail, artist galleries, restaurants and events; and attracting office tenants who value working in a vibrant mixed-use environment. Atlanta has a Downtown, a Midtown, a Buckhead, and now, finally, an Uptown. To learn more about Uptown, visit uptownatlanta.com and follow @UptownAtlanta on Facebook and Instagram.
