Tammy Kaskel was recently named Employee of the Year – Administration by The Arc Baltimore. Kaskel, who is known to her colleagues as the official cheerleader for The Arc with a boundless enthusiasm for the organization’s mission, was honored by The Arc Baltimore during its 2022 Annual Meeting and Awards Reception.
Kaskel serves as a coordinator in The Arc Baltimore’s Family & Independent Living program. There, she ensures that the men and women she supports get what they need and want. She connects daily with her staff to offer resources, share fun activities, support them in challenging situations, and appreciate them for their work.
Kaskel also volunteers as the facilitator for The Arc Baltimore’s Moms’ Support Group and volunteers with its self-advocacy group, New Hope for All, assisting with recruitment and finding training opportunities including a presentation she gave in preparation for Developmental Disabilities Day. In addition, she is a member of the steering committee for The Arc Baltimore’s Leadership Institute program, having completed the program herself last year.
The Arc Baltimore’s Annual Meeting and Awards Reception recognizes those who have gone above and beyond in their service to The Arc Baltimore, from community partners and volunteers to supported individuals and staff members. The 2022 Annual Meeting included award recognitions for Volunteer Service, Foster Care Excellence, Citizenship, Public Service, and Visionary Leadership, among others. In addition, The Arc Baltimore’s new board of directors and officers were elected during the Annual Meeting.
The Arc Baltimore supports people with developmental disabilities (autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, intellectual disability) to lead fulfilling lives with a sense of belonging, purpose, and meaningful relationships.
