Yellowdig Appoints Mark Milliron to Board

Yellowdig recently appointed Dr. Mark David Milliron as a member of its Board of Directors. Dr. Milliron currently serves as the Senior Vice President and Executive Dean of the School of Education at Western Governors University (WGU).

Western Governors University (WGU) is a nonprofit online university founded by 19 U.S. governors more than 25 years ago. WGU has since become a beacon of innovation, access, affordability, competency-based education, and workforce connection serving over 130,000 full-time students nationwide. The School of Education is home to WGU’s College of General Education and its Teachers College, the largest college of education in the US, which serves teachers, leaders, and other education innovators in all 50 states.

Dr. Milliron shared, “Yellowdig is a committed team doing compelling work to power the work of faculty to catalyze deeper learning and increase engagement. I’m so looking forward to supporting this vital work.”

Dr. Milliron is an award-winning higher education leader, author, and speaker, working all across the education space.  In 2016 Chronicle of Higher Education named Dr. Milliron as one of the “Top Technology Innovators” in higher education; and in 2018, EdTechDigest named him as one of the Top Influencers in the education technology field.

He will add being an active and influential member of Yellowdig’s board to his broader work of catalyzing positive change in education through his service on the boards and advisory councils of many leading-edge education organizations.

“We are excited to add Mark to our board of directors,” said Shaunak Roy, Founder and CEO of Yellowdig. “His deep interest in social, emotional, and experiential learning, and decades of experience in the academy as an educator, entrepreneur, and administrator will be invaluable as we scale the company.”

As a new Board Member to Yellowdig, Dr. Milliron will be a valuable asset to move forward the Yellowdig mission that every learner deserves to belong, every educator deserves to inspire, and learning is best done together. The Yellowdig team is excited to welcome him on board.
