The Community Action Council of Howard County (CAC), the county’s designated anti-poverty organization, is pleased to announce the addition of Rebecca Ehrlich and Lisa Reeves, as well as the return of William Howard, to their Board of Directors. The three will join a distinguished group of board members who lead CAC in achieving the mission of the organization.
“CAC is so excited to welcome back Bill Howard to our board and we are thrilled to welcome the addition of Lisa and Rebecca to our Board of Directors,” said Tracy Broccolino, president of the Community Action Council of Howard County. “Bill, Lisa, and Rebecca bring unique perspectives and backgrounds to our diverse team and we look forward to the ideas they’ll bring to the table.”
Lisa Reeves has offered expertise as a strategic nonprofit business leader for over 30 years. Recently retired as President and CEO of Easterseals DC, MD,VA, Lisa led the organization through periods of significant growth by engaging partners and donor investors who were also seeking solutions for healthy families and the community at large. She transformed community-based services to meet the changing needs of individuals with disabilities, their families, and others facing barriers to social and economic wellbeing. Lisa is recognized for initiating groundbreaking social entrepreneurial ventures and innovative service models that break down barriers to services. Her approach attracted both short-term public and private investors, and long-term partners, thus resulting in greater program outcomes and access to care. Being a leader willing to take a new approach to service and business models while meeting urgent needs also led to Easterseals significant expansion into providing mental health services, creating an umbrella of support for military families and ultimately the larger community. Leading groundbreaking service models created opportunities for Lisa’s team to succeed in major fundraising campaigns that enabled innovation and the launch of new solutions to seemingly embedded community problems. Above all, Lisa brings an unwavering commitment to her pledge to help others and is excited and passionate about the work of the CAC of Howard County.
Rebecca Ehrlich has lived in Howard County since 2005. Rebecca is currently a Director of Regional Electric Operations for BGE where her responsibilities include managing safety and electric service reliability across BGE’s Northeast service territory. She has spent her career in the utility industry, previously serving as BGE’s Director of Transmission and Substations as well as holding a variety of engineering and operational roles at Pepco. Rebecca is excited to be a part of the CAC and its commitment to healthy food access and energy assistance to support quality of life concerns for all of Howard County’s residents.
William Howard worked for more than 40 years in the financial services and public service fields. As the Director of Economic Development for Howard County Maryland, he coordinated the acquisition of a major County employer, saving 350 jobs for the County. In addition, William served for thirteen years as an Associate Chaplain at Howard County General Hospital. He is thrilled to re-join the Board of the Community Action Council, on which he served for six years, following four years on its Holland Awards Committee. Through his efforts, major financial and mechanical/equipment contributions were made to the Howard County Food Bank, which is operated by CAC. In addition to CAC, he was Treasurer of NeighborRide, Inc., Chairman of the Jim Rouse Entrepreneurial Fund and Treasurer of the Resurrection St. Paul School Board. He is an alumnus of Leadership Howard County. Finally, he is a Founding Member of the Tara Howard Loving Heart and Helping Hands Foundation, established in memory of his daughter, to promote social justice initiatives by youth and young adults. Presently, William is Senior Vice President of BDC Health-IT, whose product, LifePulse360, is an information management system that facilitates for its users, patients and physicians, the coordination of care services, not only encompassing healthcare, but also social and community services, to the benefit of patients/clients. LifePulse 360 has been adapted for use under a contract with the Delaware Department of Corrections, whose objective is to assist recently incarcerated individuals avoid recidivism.
