LaserShip, the largest regional e-commerce parcel carrier in the U.S. and leader in last-mile delivery, has signed a full-building lease with Matan Companies for 105,000 square feet of industrial and warehouse space at Stonecroft Industrial Center in Chantilly. Scott Rabin, Partner, Advisory Services for Edge represented the tenant and Brad Benna, Leasing & Acquisitions for Matan Companies represented the landlord in this lease transaction. Approximately 100 employees are expected to work at the building when LaserShip takes occupancy this fall.
Headquartered in Vienna, Virginia, LaserShip is trusted by leading retailers to provide faster, reliable, cost-effective same-day and next-day delivery that acquires customers and builds brand loyalty. LaserShip’s delivery network reaches more than 150 million consumers in 22 states and Washington, D.C. In late 2021, LaserShip announced its merger with West Coast- based e-commerce logistics company, OnTrac, to create the first pure-play, transcontinental last-mile e-commerce delivery network that reaches 74% of the U.S. population and enhances shippers’ ability to meet growing delivery demand.
Located at 14850 Thompson Road, Stonecroft Industrial Center features 32-foot clear ceiling heights, 37 dock doors, four drive-in doors, a 115-foot truck court and 120 parking spaces. It is located adjacent to US Route 50 and VA Route 28 and is less than eight miles from Dulles International Airport. LaserShip intends to relocate one the company’s distribution centers, currently operating in Chantilly, to this new larger facility.
“LaserShip has been investing in its infrastructure to help e-commerce retailers reach their customers with faster, more reliable delivery at a lower cost,” said Josh Dinneen, Chief Commercial Officer at LaserShip/OnTrac. “We’re excited to relocate our distribution center to this outstanding facility and look forward to welcoming more employees to our team.”
LaserShip is leasing a recently-delivered, Class ‘A’ warehouse building in which the company can integrate its state-of-the-art processing equipment and systems,” explained Scott Rabin of Edge. “Few buildings in the Northern Virginia submarket can match the immediate proximity to Dulles International Airport as offered by Stonecroft Industrial Center and the asset is situated within a talent-rich area which will assist with employee recruitment efforts. The logistics sector continues to experience rapid growth, as e-commerce plays an essential component serving the needs of both businesses and consumers.”
