Bluespring Wealth Partners Appoints David Canter as President

AUSTIN, Texas–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Bluespring Wealth Partners, LLC has added RIA industry leader David Canter to its team as President. Canter will lead Bluespring into its next phase of growth, taking over day-to-day leadership including M&A, firm strategy, and organic growth. Canter will take the ropes from Stuart Silverman, who has created significant growth for Bluespring and will be moving to the newly created role of Chairman.

Canter spent more than a decade at Fidelity Institutional, most recently leading its RIA and Family Office segment. In addition to his time at Fidelity, Canter has spent time at Charles Schwab, the NYSE, and Quellos. Over the years, Canter has led or been part of teams that have supported RIA firms in a wide variety of areas within practice management, wealth management services, technology, growth consulting, and more.

“I am excited to join Bluespring and build on the success of Stuart and the entire team,” said Canter. “Working in an entrepreneurial environment that prizes the individuality and independence of RIAs and wealth management firms in a supportive environment is energizing. I look forward to collaborating with our partner firms, the team, and Stuart as we continue to expand the Bluespring footprint.”

Silverman, who has built Bluespring into a force in wealth management acquisition, will become its chairman. In addition to helping David onboard, Stuart will continue to support the growth of Bluespring and its member firms by remaining culturally focused and supporting the M&A efforts.

“It’s been a pleasure leading and growing this team over the last four years,” said Silverman. “We have created remarkable growth, and David will supercharge our position as a top acquirer. His experience should be a tremendous resource for our partner firms.”

“Stuart has been a true visionary for Bluespring since we launched in 2019, and I’m incredibly thankful for his leadership,” said James Poer, CEO of Kestra Holdings. “Bringing in an industry veteran like David allows us to continue to elevate our growth and infrastructure at Bluespring. David’s deep understanding of the industry supports our mission to empower RIA and wealth management firm owners to elevate their businesses.”

Canter’s addition follows a strong start to 2022 for Bluespring, having completed six acquisitions to date, further expanding the firm’s reach and presence throughout the U.S. by providing succession planning through comprehensive and fully customizable solutions. Canter will join Bluespring in August and be a member of the Kestra Holdings executive team reporting to James Poer.
