NEW YORK, Aug. 02, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — NYI , a leading provider of hybrid infrastructure solutions and managed services, has expanded its 60 Hudson Street operations by acquiring space previously occupied by Equinix. The expansion is the result of a joint venture with QTD Systems, which acquired the Equinix premises in a transaction that closed on August 1, 2022.
With this integration, NYI doubles its data center footprint and immediately expands the carrier ecosystem available to customers. The expansion also includes extensive additional line infrastructure and access to POEs, enabling unmatched capacity and reach in NYC’s most connected building. Coupled with NYI’s existing in-building capabilities, customers now have access to an unparalleled level of resiliency in implementing their interconnection strategy.
“As digital transformation accelerates, 60 Hudson Street’s role as a premier location for global carriers in New York City will be invaluable in meeting customers’ growing connectivity needs,” said Phillip Koblence, co-founder of NYI and COO. “This integration increases NYI’s ability to serve as the leading facilitator of access to this global interconnection gateway while making deployment at 60 Hudson Street easier and more cost-effective.”
“I have a long history at 60 Hudson Street, having built several long-standing and still functioning data center and connectivity operations over the past twenty years. I look forward to NYI’s continued quality of service and building Equinix’s 60 Hudson NY8 infrastructure to advance the future of interconnection,” added Peter Feldman, CEO of QTD Systems.
Several parties benefit from the expansion:
- Former Equinix customers receive business continuity and access to NYI’s onsite technical staff, a cost-effective interconnection platform, and a range of hybrid infrastructure solutions and highly skilled managed services.
- Domestic and international customers get access to more storage and performance, as well as an expanded carrier ecosystem.
- Telcos benefit from seamless and cost-effective access to NYI’s expanded in-building wiring infrastructure and additional access points.
With the expanded capabilities and continued drive to reduce complexity and provide a seamless customer experience, NYI hopes to set the stage for a simpler and more accessible interconnect at 60 Hudson Street, both from a deployment and cost perspective for carriers , content providers and businesses of all sizes.
