ArtServe And Holy Cross Health Exhibit Features Local Female Artists “Soul Awareness” At Dorothy Mangurian Comprehensive Women’s Center Through Sept. 23, 2022

ArtServe and Holy Cross Health continue their art partnership in a quarterly series of exhibitions by South Florida women with “Soul Awareness,” a new mixed media exhibit featuring three award-wining local female artists.

Curated by ArtServe’s Sophie Bonet, “Soul Awareness” runs through Sept. 23, 2022 at the Dorothy Mangurian Comprehensive Women’s Center at Holy Cross HealthPlex in Fort Lauderdale at 1000 N.E. 56th St..   Admission is free and the Center is open from Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

“Our longstanding and ongoing partnership with ArtServe is an inspiring tribute to the empowerment of women in the arts,” said Mark Doyle, President and CEO of Holy Cross Health.

The three artists are:

Kay Kiria:  An artist, teacher and poet, she uses canvas, wood panel and paper to work with her favored mediums of oil, cold wax, acrylic, gels and grounding primers to create her work.

Lynda Sauls:  President of the Weston ArtGuild, she is inspired by nature to create her sizeable oil paintings in rich, bold colors that celebrate the simplicity of flowers and plants.

Marlene Hammel:  Inspired as a young child by the endless possibilities of the Etch-a-Sketch toy, she followed her creative talent into the makeup and fashion industry from which she derives her inspiration and use of texture and “wild” colors.

“Manifestations of resilience create the compassion, inspiration and possibilities found in these heartfelt paintings, where the strength of feminine intuition, the irrepressible beauty of nature, and spirited honesty and imagination come together, leading to hope and realization,” Bonet said of the exhibit.
