Palmer Trinity School (PTS) welcomes alums Lynley Walker Ciorobea ’96, Richard Allen Grillo, Esq. ’97, Daniel Diaz Leyva, Esq. ‘98, and Douglas Rothfeldt ‘10 to its board of trustees.
“We are pleased to be welcoming Lynley, Richard, Daniel and Doug back to Palmer Trinity, this time as part of the school’s board of trustees. They continue to value virtue, humanity and spirit as members of the greater community, and will uphold Palmer Trinity’s commitment to its students going forward,” stated Marcel Navarro, Chairman of the Board.
Lynley Walker Ciorobea is a licensed real estate agent and is one of the top-ranking realtors at Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices EWM Realty in Coral Gables. She also has a background in advertising and marketing. Ciorobea is committed to serving the community. In addition to her recent appointment to the PTS board of trustees, she was also a past president and founding member of the school’s alumni association. She serves as trusteeship chair of the executive board for St. Thomas Episcopal Parish School; is on the board of trustees for Kieve Wavus Education, a nonprofit summer camp and year-round educational organization in Maine; and has served as a volunteer to interview applicants for Duke University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts. She and her husband and two sons live in South Miami.
Richard Allen Grillo, Esq. is executive vice president, general counsel, and owner of Miami Regional University (MRU) in Miami Springs. Prior to MRU, he was an Assistant County Attorney at the Broward County Attorney’s Office where he handled litigation, appeals, and advised the canvassing board on election laws and the human rights board. Grillo also served as an officer in the U.S. Navy and Navy Reserve for more than 15 years. His community involvement has included hosting charitable fundraising events at MRU, Cub Scout leadership, and the Peter T. Fay American Inns of Court. Grillo earned his law degree at St. Thomas University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts from Oglethorpe University. Grillo is a resident of Palmetto Bay with his wife Lara, a fellow PTS alum, and their three young children.
Daniel Diaz Leyva, Esq. is the co-founder and Chairman of the boutique law practice Diaz Leyva Group where he supports clients with their transactional needs in the areas of real estate, lending and business. He also serves as outside general counsel advising clients on legal matters across their daily business affairs. In addition to the PTS board of trustees, Diaz Leyva also serves on the board of the Palmer Trinity Alumni Association where he was a founding member and is the recipient of the Head of School Alumni Award for his distinguished service to the community. Previously, he served on the Board of Trustees of Miami Dade College and helped establish and served as the executive director of the US chapter of the Consejo Empresarial de América Latina (CEAL), an organization that promotes economic development throughout Latin America. He has also served on the board of directors of Anthem Bank & Trust, Florida Health Choices, CHARLEE Homes for Children, Banyan Health Systems, Latin Builders Association, Hispanic Business Initiative Fund, and the University of Miami Institute for Cuban and Cuban American Studies. Diaz Leyva holds a law degree from the St. Thomas University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Miami. He lives between Colorado and Florida with his wife Cristina and their two children.
Douglas Rothfeldt is an advisor in Private Wealth Management at Goldman Sachs, advising entrepreneurs and their families, foundations, and private companies on all aspects of investment and wealth management. Prior to joining the firm in 2015, Rothfeldt earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in finance from the Edwin L. Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University (SMU). During his time at SMU, Rothfeldt was selected into an honors analyst program co-managing the Ann Rife Cox Endowment and also completed the International Business Program at Fundação Getulio Vargas in São Paulo, Brazil. Rothfeldt serves as Chairman of the Board for the Boulevard Scholarship Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit investment fund. He also serves on Palmer Trinity School’s Alumni Board.
