NeighborWorks® Housing Solutions (NHS; www.nhsmass.org), the leading housing service provider in southern Massachusetts, is pleased to announce Angelica Gomez as the organization’s first Chief Operating Officer (COO).
Gomez, who previously held the title of Director of Rental Assistance, brings more than 13 years of experience in the nonprofit sector and specifically in the affordable housing service industry to her new role as COO. Under her leadership she will manage the programmatic operations with responsibilities that include oversight of all administrative and service delivery functions within the agency.
“It is truly an honor to be part of this incredible organization,” said Angelica Gomez. “I have had the opportunity to help families access safe affordable housing. I know how important housing, education and resources are for people in our region, and I am excited to take on this role and be able to support all our programs as we continue to advance our mission and help more people in our communities.”
Since 2019 NHS has grown as an organization and is now one of the leading service providers. As part of their growth strategy, incorporating the expertise of a senior level operations role will help position the organization for future growth by expanding capacity and leveraging key internal talent. NHS has five office locations throughout southern Massachusetts and now has more than 125 employees.
A graduate of Universidad de Los Andes with a Bachelor of Science degree in Anthropology, Gomez received her Master of Science in Human Services from Northeastern University.
“Adding a COO position to our growing organization was part of our planning,” said Robert Corley, CEO of NeighborWorks Housing Solutions. “Her extensive experience and knowledge of our programs and the population we serve, coupled with her ability to manage and lead teams make this a natural fit for all of us. This is a great opportunity for NHS.”
