Gyre9, a product design and development firm, has made a move to new headquarters in Southbury, Conn., according to President Ed Gilchrest.
The move for all of Gyre9’s research, engineering, design, and manufacturing takes the company from their previous 10,000 sq. ft. facility to over 40,000 sq. ft. at 1200 Main Street South in Southbury.
Gilchrest explains, “The move is driven by our expanding production and product development of electric vehicle chargers (EVSEs) for JuiceBar here in Connecticut, It’s Electric headquartered in Brooklyn, NY, and others. Gyre9 has seen this greater demand for our vertically integrated services which allow us to design and manufacture quickly in response to changes in the marketplace. Many of our suppliers are Connecticut based, accelerating the supply chain, and bringing new products to the market faster.”
Gyre9 has 35 – 40 employees and continues to hire and grow to serve long-time clients like LEX Products and Excel Hand Dryers.
“Our employees have extensive engineering and design experience working with Fortune 100 clients and previous positions in industries such as aerospace, electric motorcycle, and on-demand water heating systems. That, and having my wife, with over 40 years of manufacturing experience, as our Manufacturing Manager, makes for the perfect operation, “ concludes Gilchrest.
