WHAT: Halcyon invites doodles, furry friends and their families to celebrate International Doodle Dog Day with the biggest dog paw-ty of the year!
Guests can check in at the Halcyon tent on the Village Green to pick up free dog swag and the schedule of entertaining, dog-friendly events. Beginning at 2:15 p.m., there will be a group photo and following at 2:30 p.m., a Pooch Parade full of wagging tails and prizes for best trick, curliest, smallest, largest, parent/pup look-a-like and best in show. Dogs and their families will have a ball when creating dog-themed crafts, dining in on the dog-friendly menu at Cherry Street Brewpub, sampling on puppuccinos and other treats, visiting other dog-friendly vendors, such as Barkuterie, and more.
Furkids Animal Rescue and Shelter, Georgia’s largest no kill animal shelter and rescue organization, will be onsite for guests to meet adorable pups who are searching for their forever family and home. Each year, Furkids rescues over 5,000 homeless and abandoned animals and provides them with the best medical care and nurturing environment while diligently working to find their forever home. Headquartered in Atlanta, Furkids also operates four thrift stores, which funds approximately 30% of the lifesaving work.
No outside food or drinks are allowed at the event. Free parking is available in the parking deck and neighbors are also encouraged to visit Halcyon by bike or
