The Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation (GHOF) will host the 14th Annual Ocean Inspiration Gala to raise awareness of and funds for ocean conservation beginning at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, October 26 at the Lauderdale Yacht Club, 1725 SE 12th Street in Fort Lauderdale. Attire is island cocktail.
During the Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation Ocean Inspiration Gala, world-renowned artist, scientist, conservationist and GHOF Founder, Dr. Guy Harvey, and his daughter, GHOF Co-Chair and Chief Brand Officer Jessica Harvey, will once again entertain guests with exciting adventures and anecdotes of a year filled with cutting-edge research and innovative education programming. Guests will enjoy a cocktail hour, dinner and a live and silent auction with original Guy Harvey artwork, extraordinary trips and excursions, jewelry, apparel, gift baskets and other unique items, all perfect gifts for the upcoming holiday season.
“Each year we look forward to sharing the progress that we’ve made, particularly with our tremendous education and research initiatives,” said Dr. Harvey. “We are celebrating new partnerships which have paved the way to saving our seas.”
This year, the GHOF will present the Guy Harvey Conservation Icon Award to one organization and one individual who have had a substantial positive impact on the environment and conservation. This year’s organization honoree is FORCE BLUE, the only 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization in the world that retrains and redeploys former Special Operations veterans and military-trained combat divers to work alongside scientists and environmentalists on marine conservation missions. This year’s individual honoree is Eric Eikenberg, CEO of The Everglades Foundation, who works tirelessly to bring people together and provide a powerful voice for Everglades restoration at the state and national levels.
Proceeds from the evening benefit the GHOF’s dynamic ocean research and education efforts. Each year, the GHOF expands its marine science curriculum for elementary, middle and high school students based on Dr. Harvey’s decades of scientific research. GHOF is making marine and environmental science more engaging with virtual field trips that include diving with sharks, investigating mangrove environments, witnessing sea turtles nesting and examining the impacts of pollution, climate change and overfishing on the marine world. Hands-on enrichment activities allow students to interact with the environment, immersing them in case studies of environmental problems and success stories around the world.
Reservations are $300 per person and a table of 10 is $2,500. Donations to the Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation support life-changing environmental programs as well as additional global education and research initiatives. For tickets, visit http://bidpal.net/GHOF2022 or e-mail info@ghof.org.
Sponsors include Norwegian Cruise Line, Florida Crystals, MarineMax, Boston Whaler, and Venice Magazine.

About Guy Harvey: Guy Harvey is a unique blend of artist, scientist, diver, angler, conservationist and explorer, fiercely devoted to his family and his love of the sea. His childhood passion for the ocean and its living creatures not only inspired him to draw, but fueled a burning interest that prompted a formal education in marine science. Having graduated with honors in Marine Biology from Aberdeen University in Scotland in 1977, Guy returned home to Jamaica to resume his education, earning his Ph.D. from the University of the West Indies in 1984. Though he gave up a budding career as a marine biologist for that of a highly acclaimed artist, Guy has continued his relentless pursuit to unravel the mysteries of the sea, traveling the world to better understand the habits and habitats of the marine wildlife he paints.
