Native Realty, the industry disruptor and neighborhood placemaker led by CEO Jaime Sturgis, just brokered a lease to bring popular Miami fitness concept JETSET Modern Pilates to Fort Lauderdale’s Flagler Village. JETSET will open a 1,660-square-foot studio on the ground floor of the luxury EON Squared apartment building.
Sturgis, Native Sales Director Kaley Tuning and Senior Associate Dan Ross exclusively represent EON Squared owner Union Investment in leasing the 421 NE Sixth St. high-rise’s ground-floor retail and restaurant space. JETSET signed a 10-year lease for its first Fort Lauderdale location. The franchise has popular locations in Miami Beach’s South of Fifth and Sunset Harbour neighborhoods, and Miami’s Brickell and Edgewater.
The EON Squared retail space sat vacant for several years before Native was retained by the landlord. Native has secured letters of intent for all individual ground-floor spaces within a few weeks of taking over the listing. Leases for the three additional spaces will be finalized in the coming weeks, bringing EON Squared’s commercial component to 100% occupancy.
Sturgis and Native led the turnaround of Flagler Village from an overlooked industrial district to one of Florida’s coolest urban neighborhoods, curating the area with a vibrant mix of public art, retailers, creative offices, dining and entertainment destinations. Large-scale apartment development followed, giving Flagler Village a critical mass of residents to support the many commercial businesses.
“Our placemaking history and encyclopedialike knowledge of Flagler Village allow us to rapidly identify the right tenants for buildings like EON Squared,” Sturgis said. “We knew JETSET was a big hit at its Miami locations, and many Fort Lauderdale Pilates enthusiasts even drive down to those locations. This new Flagler Village location will undoubtedly enjoy tremendous success.”
Developed by Alta Developers, EON Squared is a 476-unit luxury apartment community in the heart of Flagler Village. Union Investment acquired the community at the end of 2021.
EON Squared is adjacent to the third phase of prominent Fort Lauderdale developers Charlie Ladd and Steven Hudson’s Flagler Sixth project. Plans call for a high-rise apartment tower with a grocery-anchored commercial component on the ground floor.
Native now operates from a new Fort Lauderdale office that is double the size of its previous headquarters. The 4,000-square-foot office is located at 1926 E. Sunrise Blvd. in the city’s Victoria Park neighborhood.
