
REHOVOT, Israel–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Aleph Farms, the first in vitro meat company to produce steaks directly from non-genetically modified animal cell culture, today announced that Kevin Benmoussa has been hired as Executive VP and Chief Financial Officer. He will be part of the management team, which otherwise consists of Didier Toubia (co-founder and CEO), Dr. Neta Lavon (CTO and VP R&D), Prof. Shulamit Levenberg (Co-Founder and Chief Scientific Adviser) and Yifat Gavriel (Chief Regulatory Affairs, QA and Product Safety). Kevin Benmoussa was formerly Chief Financial Officer at The Vita Coco Company, where he was responsible for expanding the company’s global finance functions before leading that company’s IPO in 2021. Prior to that, he held numerous leadership positions at Nestlé Waters North America, Inc. and PepsiCo Inc., where he drove growth and profitability through mergers and acquisitions, strategic alliances and business development.

Working closely with regulators around the world, Aleph Farms is preparing to launch its first product, a thinly sliced in vitro beef steak. In addition, the Company plans to manufacture various types of steaks as well as in vitro collagen through additional in-house capabilities. In all cases, Aleph Farms products are made from cell cultures derived from live cows that have not been immortalized or genetically modified. In this way slaughter is avoided and the production is part of an integrated solution for a sustainable and secure meat sector.
