Adaptive Reuse and New Construction Project on BeltLine Slated to Open in 2023
Westside Paper is adding a popular brewery, a taqueria, a bottle shop and a westside outpost of King of Pops to its 15-plus acre campus on the BeltLine.
Located at 950 West Marietta Street, across from the King Plow Arts Center and adjacent to Puritan Mill, Westside Paper is an under-construction historic, repurposed office and retail space in booming Westside Atlanta by Third & Urban and FCP®. It includes 245,000 square feet of mixed-use space focused around a 1950s paper warehouse with new construction elements.
Westside Paper continues to deliver a hospitality environment for office workers and local patrons with the addition of the four new retail tenants and a multi-million dollar office lobby designed by
Smith Hanes Interiors.
“We are thrilled to announce these new leases for concepts that are as dynamic and unique as Westside Paper,” said Chris Faussemagne. “Our location on the future BeltLine, connecting the Midtown urban core to the new and popular Westside Park, is unlike any other in the city and we expect this momentum to continue.”
Westside Paper will be home to Grant Park-based Elsewhere Brewing’s second location. A new taqueria from noted chef Santiago Gomez of Palo Santo, a South American-focused bottle shop curated by restauranteur Roxana Aguirre and a King of Pops walk-up location are also adding to the culinary offerings in the adaptive reuse project.
Elsewhere Brewing’s West Midtown ambiance will be more like a traditional pub than its headquarters, with beer, cocktails and conversation top of mind. It will have a larger production of barrel-aged beer, cask ale and oak-aged lagers. Seltzer and cocktails will also be a part of the bar program.
Acclaimed chef Santiago Gomez is following up his first Atlanta restaurant Palo Santo with a traditional taqueria in Westside Paper called El Santo Gallo. Gomez spent nine years honing his craft in Miami, where he operated two popular Mexican restaurants.
Ancestral Bottle Shop + Market is a new venture by restauranteur Roxana Aguirre that will focus on family owned, micro-batch, single-village Mexican spirits and South American wines The experience invites patrons to learn and experience agave in an engaging and fun way.
King of Pops will open a walk-up brick-and-mortar location featuring a full menu of pops, soft serve, pop-tails, slush-tails, beer and wine. The Atlanta popsicle company continues to expand its offerings and how it serves ‘Unexpected Moments of Happiness” to its fans and customers.
“Westside Paper is an ideal location for Elsewhere Brewing, El Santo Gallo, Ancestral and King of Pops. It is one of the last large-scale historic mixed-use opportunities in the Upper Westside urban core and its on the BeltLine,” said Shelbi Bodner, Bridger Properties. “We are honored to lead the retail leasing on behalf of our excellent partners Third & Urban and FCP.”
The development team previously announced Pancake Social, Glide Pizza,Girl Diver and Boxcar Betty’s. The retail is nearly 90% leased, with only one space remaining.
Within walking distance of the core West Midtown submarket and near some of Atlanta’s first adaptive reuse projects, which were developed more than twenty years ago, Westside Paper is anticipating first phase opening in early 2023.
