Join us on Oct. 30th! The Bionic Mile is for EVERYONE
On October 30th, the Bionic Mile comes to Golden Gate Park. Chase a PR at this iconic distance on a professionally timed, certified 1-mile course, according to race director, Will Borden.
Toe the starting line with elite runners, weekend warriors, amputee blade runners, wheelchair athletes, high school cross country teams, families pushing strollers, and first-timers. The 1-mile distance is both accessible, and uniquely challenging, for everyone.
Your $25 registration fee earns you a race t-shirt, post-race refreshments, and plenty of swag at the after party. All proceeds go to The Bionic Project, a rapidly growing non-profit that brings together the adaptive and able-bodied sports communities.
Borden explains, “By assembling a critical mass of amputee and disabled runners, we can break down barriers and normalize the experience of running alongside people with significant adaptations. In addition, by shining a light on the recent advances in science, technology and rehabilitation medicine, we can engage and inspire a broader group of people as volunteers, runners and supporters, building awareness of the incredible strides that are being made to end disability as we know it today,”
“Ultimately, we hope that this truly inclusive race will not only bring different types of runners together but also bring new people into the running community – encouraging those who might ordinarily shy away from a mile run because of disability to join our group of all ages and abilities in celebrating possibilities over disabilities,” Borden added.
