Ruane, Cunniff & Goldfarb and Tishman Speyer today announced the upcoming relocation of the Ruane, Cunniff headquarters to 45 Rockefeller Plaza. The investment adviser was founded in 1969, and will be moving its offices from 9 West 57th Street to Rockefeller Center in 2023.
The firm will occupy the entire 34th floor and a section of the 35th floor of 45 Rockefeller Plaza. The building, which was completed in 1935, features Lee Lawrie’s iconic 15-foot bronze “Atlas” sculpture outside its entrance.
Ruane, Cunniff will arrive to Rockefeller Center at a significant moment in the Center’s 90-year history, just as Tishman Speyer completes a wave of projects that reimagine the historic campus for the current moment, while maintaining its unmatched sense of New York City soul. Rockefeller Center began planning this reimagination across dining, retail, art, and experiences prior to the COVID-19 pandemic; today, the Center is becoming the city’s most dynamic destination for New Yorkers, and leading the reinvigoration of Midtown Manhattan.
A selection of new food & beverage options, including the acclaimed Le Rock, Lodi, and Pebble Bar; a dramatic renovation of the Rink Level (formerly known as the Concourse) to newly open it up to pedestrian flow; the successful opening of Flipper’s Roller Boogie Palace for roller skating during the warmer months; and a new park on the roof of Radio City Music Hall are among the projects that are revitalizing Rockefeller Center. In addition to Ruane, the Center has most recently welcomed customers including Katten, Citrin Cooperman, and the World Monuments Fund.
“We are delighted to welcome Ruane, Cunniff to the Rockefeller Center family,” said EB Kelly, Head of Rockefeller Center and Managing Director at Tishman Speyer. “From the moment the Ruane team walks through one of the City’s most welcoming, exquisite lobbies; to the public art and programming in the Plaza; to our extensive experiential amenities and our fantastic new restaurants – we want to ensure that Rockefeller Center can be a true home for them. We look forward to their first day at 45 Rockefeller Plaza.”
