Area Agency On Aging Of Broward County Hosts Its Empowering Caregiver Conference

More than 500 guests attended the Area Agency on Aging of Broward County’s (AAABC) Empowering Caregivers Conference. The conference took place on Tuesday, October 18 at the Lillian S. Wells Hall at The Parker Playhouse in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

The conference featured presentations on current research and advancements in Alzheimer’s and dementia-related illnesses, as well as resources and best practices for how to take care of those suffering from such illnesses. Attendees were provided with a complimentary breakfast and lunch sponsored by Humana, FP&L and Padrino’s Cuban Restaurant, as well as goodie bags.

The panel topics at the conference included Recent Advances in Alzheimer’s Care, Early Detection & Treatment; Dementia Care and What Really Matters; Tools Specific for the LGBTQ+ Community; Technology for Caregivers; Fraud Prevention & Exploitation of Seniors; Resources Specific to Communities of Color; Best Financial Practices for Caregivers to Protect Their Loved Ones and Intimacy with a Loved One with Dementia.
