Lord Baltimore Hotel is excited to welcome guests back to the hotel this holiday season as it hosts its annual Couture Tree Competition in-person this holiday season for the first time since 2019. Featuring 20 highly decorative designs from businesses, nonprofits and individual artists across Baltimore and beyond, the couture trees will be on display throughout the hotel’s lobby for families and guests to enjoy from December 1, 2022, through January 10, 2023.
“The Lord Baltimore Hotel’s doors are open, and we couldn’t be more thrilled for our annual holiday tradition to return as an in-person event,” said Onahlea Shimunek, general manager of the Lord Baltimore Hotel. “That 19 of our 20 designers are returning this year from previous years is a true testament to this holiday tradition! We hope others will come down to see the trees, enjoy a treat or meal at LB Bistro & Bakery, and enjoy Downtown for the holidays.”
The designers of the winning trees – one for the tree designed by an individual or area business and one for the tree designed by a nonprofit organization – will be voted on by guests of the hotel’s private holiday party, once again returning following a hiatus due to the pandemic, and will each receive a prize of $500.
In addition to hosting the Couture Tree Competition this holiday season, in partnership with the Baltimore Architecture Foundation, Lord Baltimore Hotel will be offering gingerbread rowhome kits, made in-house by the Lord Baltimore culinary team and featuring royal icing and candy toppings to construct and decorate this larger-than-average 12″x6″x12″ two-story Baltimore icon. Those interested may purchase the kits directly from LB Bistro & Bakery for $50 while supplies last or participate in the inaugural Gingerbread Rowhome Build activity on Sunday, December 4, 2022, from 1:30-3:00 p.m. at The Center for Architecture and Design (100 North Charles Street P101 Baltimore, MD 21201) as part of Downtown Partnership’s Candy Lane in Central Plaza. Tickets for the event can be purchased here.
