Two UBS Advisor Teams in Washington D.C. Named to the Forbes America’s Top Wealth Management Teams List

UBS Wealth Management USA announced today that two advisor teams from the firm’s Washington, D.C. office have been named to the inaugural Forbes America’s Top Wealth Management Teams list for 2022.

The Liberty Capitol Group ranked first in Washington, D.C. in the High Net Worth category and placed 69th overall in the nation. The Capital ESOP Group placed second in Washington, D.C. in the Private Wealth category and ranked 58th overall in the nation.

Following an initial career as a successful entrepreneur running her own business, Financial Advisor Sandra Cunningham joined UBS where she founded her practice. Her business acumen and tireless work ethic have helped institutional clients achieve their goals for over 20 years. She provides consulting services to clients’ retirement plans and reserve accounts, including plan design, investment policy assistance, fiduciary training, fees and services benchmarking, investment due diligence, plan governance support, and participant education to organizations of all types and sizes.

Holidae Hayes combines a strong background as a banking and securities attorney and two decades of financial services experience to deliver uniquely insightful advice to clients. As a Financial Advisor, Holidae serves as a consultant to business owners, executives, families, and foundations. She leverages her decades of experience to help ensure that clients are able to achieve their goals. Financial Advisor Leland Bishop has 16 years of experience building and nurturing relationships with non-profits, foundations, endowments, and retirement plans. Leland has extensive experience in developing investment policy statements, asset allocation modeling, investment manager due diligence, portfolio analysis, portfolio reporting, risk management, and portfolio construction. His institutional clients include pension plans, foundations, endowments and corporate benefit plans.

Financial Advisor Leif Springer focuses on managing investments for nonprofits, foundations and private clients. Leif also works with small businesses and corporations on qualified and non-qualified retirement plans, in addition to providing comprehensive financial planning and wellness resources for owners, executives and plan participants.

Brock Van Selow joined UBS as part of the UBS Wealth Planning Team, which focused on high and ultra-high net worth financial planning for individuals and families. As a Financial Advisor, Brock now works primarily with the team’s private clients to organize, grow and protect their wealth. He specializes in retirement income and cash flow analysis, estate and multigenerational planning, insurance and charitable giving strategies. Additionally, Brock provides education services to the team’s retirement plan clients through seminars and one-on-one meetings with participants.

Keith Apton has over 21 years of experience in financial services, with an extensive background in corporate finance working with entrepreneurs and business owners. As the founding partner, he heads the team’s Private Wealth practice, where he works to determine client needs and match them with the appropriate resources of UBS. Keith focuses on solutions encompassing asset allocation, wealth and liability management to create tailored financial plans for his clients. His process entails a disciplined approach to help business owners with sell-side advisory solutions and post-sale financial planning to include holistic wealth management, including tax and estate planning strategies through strategic partnerships. Keith is a nationally-recognized leader on ESOPs and Internal Revenue Code §1042 rollovers.

Nick Francia focuses on educating business owners on tax-efficient exit strategies. He is committed to helping clients understand their options, as well as the pros and cons of each strategy and choose the best succession plan for themselves and their families. Nick also creates tailored cash flow models that compare taxable sales of privately held businesses and tax-deferred sales to an ESOP under §1042 of the Internal Revenue Code.
