Ann Gray FRICS officially inaugurated as new President of RICS
The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) has officially inaugurated Ann Gray FRICS as their new president. Prior to this, Gray served as the RICS President Elect. This appointment provides a platform for her to further promote DEI initiatives not only in the real estate industry, but throughout business.
“There are many urgent issues facing our world, from the narrowing window to achieve Net Zero, the need to deliver an adequate supply of housing, and the imperative to protect natural resources. Whatever the challenges ahead, I am confident that from many disciplines working as one profession we will ensure that this institution and the values we hold will thrive, working together to achieve our fullest purpose in the years to come,” Gray said.
Advancing diversity, equity and inclusion will be a significant part of Gray’s presidential mission. Surveying, as a profession, must be more diverse and inclusive to properly respond to the needs of the communities served by RICS. Gray works to have diverse role models as mentors and holding senior positions in the industry.
When Gray was asked about what she admires most about the industry she responded, “in the actions of RICS members, we see the purpose of this institution come to life, a testament to the values we hold dear and the impact we strive to make on the world.”
Ann Gray FRICS, FAIA, is both a licensed architect and real estate broker. As principal at GRAY Real Estate Advisors she consults to property owners, brokers and land use attorneys on entitlements, development, and positioning to optimize value of complex properties.
Prior to forming her company, Gray was Studio Architect at Paramount Pictures for eight years where she oversaw approximately $250 million in the development of corporate and production facilities. Her work at Paramount was recognized by TIME, Interiors and Progressive Architecture.
Gray is a frequent lecturer and juror at universities such as USC, UCLA and Harvard Graduate School of Design and serves on the Board of Advisors to the Woodbury University School of Architecture. She has degrees in Math and Architecture, both from UCLA. Ann serves on the Americas Board and the Governing Council of RICS.
