We are excited to announce that Sophia Nguyen is joining Book World as a news and features writer, reporting on developments in the literary field and alerting our readers to the authors, books and ideas that people will be talking about. In this new role, Sophia will be an important anchor of our books coverage. She moves over from the National Politics desk, where she was an assistant editor. Before that, she was an assistant editor for Outlook and PostEverything.
As an editor, Sophia has clarified complicated ideas and found the most interesting ways into big subjects. She has played a pivotal role in making The Post’s world-class government and politics coverage accessible to a broader array of readers.
Sophia is a wide-ranging reader herself. The books she has most enjoyed reading in the past couple of years include “The Sellout,” by Paul Beatty; “Hollywood Math and Aftermath,” by J.D. Connor; and “The Transit of Venus,” by Shirley Hazzard.
