NEI General Contracting, an award-winning general contracting firm, is pleased to announce that Marisa Somers has been promoted to Project Executive (PX). Marisa will leverage her 18 years of experience to organize and execute projects and trades to achieve maximum construction and cost efficiency. She will be involved with the preconstruction process to assist with the definition of the project scope, document development, and project scheduling and phasing.
“Since joining NEI in 2017, Marisa has been an asset to the company and its projects,” said Josef Rettman, president at NEI. “Marisa is a trailblazer and strives to mentor other women in our firm to achieve their goals.”
Marisa most recently completed Holtzer Park, a 70,000 SF development in Jamaica Plain with 62 affordable rental apartments, and Holmes Beverly, a 67,000 SF, six-story, transit-oriented mixed-use development located adjacent to the Beverly Depot commuter rail station in the heart of downtown Beverly, Mass. She is currently working on Dudley Crossing in Roxbury, Mass, a 47-unit preservation project that includes the construction of a new 24-unit Passive House building and a historic renovation of another nine-unit building.
Marisa earned a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from Wentworth Institute of Technology. She is a LEED AP and a PHIUS Certified Builder℠.
