- 3,000-Square-Foot Lounge Pays Homage to Van Nuys’ Local Aviation History

- More Private Terminals to Open and be Announced Later This Year
VAN NUYS, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Flexjet, a global leader in private jet travel, today announced the expansion of its private terminal network at the Van Nuys airport in Los Angeles, California. The company’s fourth terminal is on the Clay Lacy Executive Complex and features a 3,000 square-foot lounge available exclusively to Flexjet clients.
“In choosing to locate our Van Nuys private terminal at the Clay Lacy Executive Complex, we are able to offer our clients one of the most premium, private and secure locations,” said Flexjet Chief Operating Officer Megan Wolf. “And expanding our network of private terminals offers our clients another retreat as they travel with us.”
Flexjet’s growing network of private terminals gives its clients the opportunity to experience on the ground, the Red Label by Flexjet premium comfort and customization they enjoy in flight. Red Label by Flexjet mirrors a private flying experience that is as rewarding and empowering as owning one’s own aircraft, bridging the gap between traditional fractional ownership programs and whole-aircraft ownership.
The locations of Flexjet’s private terminals were intentionally selected where the company experiences its greatest demand, including White Plains, NY, Naples, Fla. and West Palm Beach, Fla. This terminal at Van Nuys (ICAO: KVNY) is also at one of Flexjet’s busiest destinations and has Flexjet’s second-largest passenger lounge – White Plains is the largest with 4,000 square feet. Another desirable feature at all of Flexjet’s private terminals is a team of Flexjet gate agents on site.
Each of the private terminals is unique. Throughout the lounge of the Van Nuys terminal are oversized black and white photographs that invoke the romance of old Hollywood, Rock ‘n’ Roll, business and the arts that pay tribute to 50-year history of legendary aviation pioneer Clay Lacy, the namesake of the facility.
“We found the right location at Van Nuys, the right partner with Clay Lacy Aviation and the right time to address the extraordinary growth in the southern California region,” said Flexjet’s Executive Vice President of Sales D.J. Hanlon. “The new terminal has outstanding features including a private ramp so that our clients can choose to drive directly to their aircraft or enjoy privacy inside the terminal to wait for their travel companions.”
The latest in Flexjet’s private terminal network also includes:
- Private, gated entrance to Flexjet’s terminal and parking lot
- Private ramp side access to board aircraft
- Conference room with multimedia connectivity and Wi-Fi access for Flexjet clients
- Staffed by Flexjet employees
- A café and espresso bar
- Flexjet’s largest pilot lounge
Other Flexjet Private Terminals
In February 2016, Flexjet opened its first private terminal at Naples, Florida (ICAO: KAPF). Staffed exclusively by Flexjet employees, that terminal also offers sheltered and shaded parking, conference rooms, private workspaces and Wi-Fi Internet access, just to name a few features.
In 2017, Flexjet opened a private terminal at Westchester County Airport (ICAO: KHPN) in White Plains, NY – an ideal location for the company’s private terminal in the New York metropolitan area, as it consistently is one of the three busiest airports in the country for Flexjet clients. Flexjet invested $5 million in renovations at the facility over 18 months to make it the most state-of-the-art facility on the airport grounds. The hangar doors were expanded to accommodate the Gulfstream G650, which Flexjet first took delivery of in late 2017.
The third private terminal to open was at West Palm Beach, Fla. (ICAO: KPBI), another high-demand location for Flexjet clients.
Two additional private terminals are scheduled to open in 2021 – this summer at Dallas Love Field, where Flexjet also maintains maintenance facilities and offices for its Dallas-based staff; and late in Q4 at Teterboro, NJ.
