Womble Bond Dickinson Adds Five Lawyers to its Patent Prosecution and Litigation Practice

Womble Bond Dickinson is expanding its Patent Prosecution and Litigation practice with five lawyers from Moyles IP, a boutique firm focused on protecting the IP rights of domestic and international clients in the advanced manufacturing, medical device, oil and gas, consumer products, durable medical equipment, machine learning software, communications, and electronics sectors. Lisa Moyles leads the group consisting of Jason RockmanJanelle O’NeillJason Radachy, and Bradley Shelowitz. The team will be based in the firm’s New York, Raleigh, N.C., and Washington, D.C., offices.

Earlier this week, the two firms secured a defensive verdict on behalf of client DynaEnergetics in a case before the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas, marking their third favorable defense verdict in six years in Texas courts.

Lisa Moyles (Partner, Raleigh, N.C.) is a seasoned IP lawyer with almost 30 years of experience advising clients on all aspects of IP strategy, management, and protection. With a keen eye for detail and a deep understanding of the complexities of IP law, Lisa counsels and represents clients at every stage of the protection lifecycle, including patent and trademark acquisition that withstands validity challenges, FTO analysis, and enforcement. Moyles earned her J.D. from the University of Louisville Louis D. Brandeis School of Law and graduated cum laude from North Carolina State University with a B.S. in mechanical engineering.

Jason M. Rockman (Partner, Washington, D.C.) is a skilled patent strategist with a track record of success in assisting clients of all sizes, both domestically and internationally, with patent preparation, prosecution, and enforcement. With a background in chemical engineering, he can quickly become fluent in different technologies, enabling him to provide forward-thinking advice tailored to clients’ businesses. Rockman received his J.D. from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law and a B.S. in chemical engineering from Lehigh University.

Janelle A. O’Neill (Of Counsel, Washington, D.C.) is an experienced IP lawyer who prepares and prosecutes domestic and international patent applications and advises clients in the mechanical, biotechnology, and chemical arts. She also conducts patentability and freedom-to-operate analysis and provides advice geared toward avoiding IP-related litigation. O’Neill graduated from the University of Connecticut School of Law and received a B.S. in biology with a chemistry minor from Saint John’s University.

Jason D. Radachy (Counsel, Washington, D.C.) has over 16 years of experience in patent law, including patent preparation and prosecution, portfolio management, strategic counseling, opinion preparation, and litigation support. He provides legal representation and strategic guidance to diverse clients, from individual investors to multinational corporations. Radachy graduated summa cum laude from the Ave Marie School of Law and cum laude from Case Western Reserve University with a B.S. in physics.

Bradley Shelowitz (Counsel, New York) is a patent and trademark attorney with a strong technical background that allows him to understand the intricacies of complex inventions, particularly in the field of biomedical engineering.
