NEW YORK–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Freedom Institute, an outpatient addiction treatment and recovery center located in midtown Manhattan, has named Ryan Wade, M.D., as Medical Director. Dr. Wade also serves as the Director of Addiction Services for Silver Hill Hospital in New Canaan, Connecticut, one of the nation’s premier psychiatric hospitals. With his appointment to this role, Dr. Wade will provide addiction psychiatry expertise, consultation, and leadership to Freedom Institute staff and work to raise the visibility of Freedom Institute as a critical resource for NYC-based patients recovering from substance use disorders.
A board-certified addiction psychiatrist who specializes in the treatment of co-occurring disorders, Dr. Wade will oversee the ongoing operation of Freedom Institute’s clinical team.

Dr. Wade is the lead psychiatrist for Silver Hill Hospital’s DBT-S Transitional Living Program and is licensed to practice in 12 states. He earned his medical degree and completed a general psychiatry residency at Eastern Virginia Medical School, followed by an Addiction Psychiatry fellowship at Yale University School of Medicine. Dr. Wade maintains academic appointments at both schools.
