
WHAT: STEM Center Ribbon Cutting Celebration at Elmer A. Wolfe Elementary School
A ribbon-cutting ceremony to commemorate the opening of the first of 29 new STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) centers in every Carroll County elementary and middle school will be held at Elmer A. Wolfe Elementary school on Tuesday, May 9.
The centers, developed from a $1M partnership between Kahlert Foundation and Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation, will provide new state-of-the-art STEM equipment and furniture for students to learn and engage with STEM equipment such as 3D printers, snap circuits, Bee-Bots, and Ozobots, each designed to push students to improve their problem solving and critical thinking skills.
The ceremony will include a ribbon-cutting, speeches from school officials, community leaders, Greg Kahlert and Cal Ripken, Jr.
Immediately following the ceremony, guests and media members will be invited to join a classroom of students working with the educational STEM equipment.

Parking is available next to the school. Please plan to arrive between 8:00 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. OR between 9:30 a.m. and 9:45 a.m. to avoid bus drop-off traffic. This event will be held during a school day. Media personnel will be required to check in at the school’s front office.
