Hamburg, Rubin, Mullin, Maxwell & Lupin is pleased to announce that a highly experienced corporate lawyer, J. Kurtis Kline, has joined the firm as a partner in the business law department.
Kurt most recently served as Secretary and General Counsel of an international consulting company which provided services to some of the country’s largest banks, credit card issuers, and other financial institutions, and to a software company, also in the financial services industry, which was spun out of the core business. Prior to these roles, he spent 10 years practicing corporate law in and around Philadelphia.
At HRMM&L, Kurt will advise clients on matters related to formation, asset protection and succession planning, mergers and acquisitions, private exempt offerings and capital raises, manufacturing, distribution, technology, software, and licensing agreements, and much more. He will represent the firm’s banking clients, utilizing his contracting experience representing banks in various aspects of technology agreements and also, on the other side, navigating vendors and software providers through the often-rigorous procurement processes.
“We are delighted that someone of Kurt’s deep corporate law experience and substantial education in finance and taxation has joined the firm,” said Managing Partner Bill Roark. “Our clients will extremely benefit from his business and legal acumen—a combination that is rare in business law practice today.”
Kurt received an LL.M in taxation from Villanova University School of Law. He is a 2002 cum laude graduate of Delaware Law School, and received his MBA, with a concentration in Finance, and undergraduate degrees from the University of Delaware.
Kurt is a member of the Pennsylvania and New Jersey Bars, and the Montgomery and Chester County Bar Associations. He is fluent in Spanish and enjoys using this skill to counsel both international corporate clients as well as local businesses on a variety of legal issues.
