WHAT: Heritage | MileOne Autogroup and MileOneCares are proud to support the Chestnut Ridge Volunteer Fire Company by launching a fundraising drive for the purchase of a new ambulance and Advanced Life Support Units, along with essential life-saving medical equipment. The organization has pledged to match up to $250,000 in donations to the Chestnut Ridge Volunteer Fire Company, in an effort to raise a total of $565,000 for this crucial cause.
To support this fundraising initiative, Heritage | MileOne Autogroup and MileOneCares will co-host a Community Safety Day with the Chestnut Ridge Volunteer Fire Company on Sunday, June 4, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Chestnut Ridge Fire Department. Designed for all ages, this event is open to the public and free to attend. The event will feature firetruck rides, fire extinguisher and CPR demonstrations, art projects and food options such as snowballs and pit beef (available for purchase). Members of Chestnut Ridge will demonstrate tools firefighters use to gain access to a vehicle in an emergency by cutting apart a car. Representatives from Maryland Kids in Safety Seats will be on-hand to discuss car seat safety with parents and MileOneCares will be raffling off a brand-new car seat. Additionally, DRIVE SMART Virginia will bring a virtual reality distracted and drunk driving simulator and impaired driving cart course so drivers can witness first-hand the dangers of distracted driving. All proceeds from the event will be directly donated to the fundraising drive, contributing to the acquisition of the much-needed medical units and equipment.
The Chestnut Ridge Volunteer Fire Company, a 100 percent volunteer organization, has served the citizens of Baltimore County since 1956. With approximately 1,800 calls per year, including five medical calls per day, their ambulance plays a crucial role in the community.
