After a successful expansion into Philadelphia, Wicked Wolf, a sports bar-meets-nightlife concept out of Hoboken, New Jersey, is opening its first location in the Southeast in Midtown Atlanta. Located steps away from many hotels, restaurants and other nightlife venues, Wicked Wolf is the latest addition to Midtown’s thriving entertainment scene.
With its name paying homage to a nocturnal creature, Wicked Wolf Atlanta will be a different animal at night. By day, it will be a sports-oriented restaurant and pub, but after dark, it transforms into a nightlife destination featuring music, live entertainment, and DJs. On Saturdays and Sundays, the restaurant will serve brunch in a festive atmosphere.
While Wicked Wolf is a new arrival to Atlanta, it has enlisted some well-known local names to open its doors. General manager Sam Tokunaga got his start in the industry at Vision Nightclub, and nightlife manager Vince Chu was part of the opening team for the acclaimed Whiskey Park at the W Midtown Hotel. Tara Mayfield, former executive chef of some of Atlanta’s top restaurants like The Consulate, Buckhead Diner, and Lure, will helm the kitchen. For its music program, Wicked Wolf has teamed with DJ EU, who also serves as the official DJ for Atlanta United, to book top talent.
Mayfield has crafted a lunch and dinner menu that draws from her vast experience with seafood, tapas and upscale American cuisine. The result is elevated pub fare with a selection of sharable starters like coffee can nachos, lamb lollipops, a charcuterie board and customizable burgers and sandwiches such as the short rib grilled cheese and fried shrimp po’boy. For vegetarians, the menu has a selection of salads and entrées including a curry-seasoned cauliflower steak.
The newly renovated interior boasts 6,000 square feet of space and features a 24-foot LED wall, HD televisions throughout the space for playing multiple sporting events simultaneously and a brand-new sound system that is perfect for watching a big game or enhancing an entertainment experience. With numerous viewing options, every seat is a great seat at Wicked Wolf. Black quartz bar tops, banquette seating and chandeliers create an inviting atmosphere. A 2,000-square-foot wraparound patio complements the indoor space, connected by an indoor/outdoor island bar.
Wicked Wolf Atlanta plans to open on June 8 with a series of grand opening events in its first few weeks. The restaurant is located at 1080 Peachtree Street NE, Suite 7, Atlanta, GA 30309. For more information, visit wickedwolfatlanta.com.
