Baltimore Banner Announces iMPACT Maryland Thought Leadership Conference

iMPACT MARYLAND Presented by Whiting-Turner will serve as new signature annual event creating an impactful dialogue around the most vital issues facing Maryland

The Baltimore Banner today announced iMPACT MARYLAND Presented by Whiting-Turner, a new signature annual event that will bring together top voices and generational leaders from across the region to create a meaningful dialogue around the most important policies and issues affecting the state.

The inaugural iMPACT MARYLAND event will take place on Oct. 10, 2023, at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall Theatre in Baltimore City. This historic daylong immersive event will be attended by up to one thousand attendees, including the region’s leading business, civic, health, education and nonprofit leaders, including several nationally recognized keynote speakers.

iMPACT MARYLAND Presented by Whiting-Turner will include panel discussions moderated by The Baltimore Banner’s newsroom talent and featuring the region’s most distinguished thought leaders on topics such as education, health care, economic development, public safety, sports, and more.

“In the 13 months since The Baltimore Banner launched as a nonprofit, independent local news organization, our mission has been to become an integral and vital part of the communities that we serve across Maryland as we help strengthen, unite and inspire our communities,” said Kimi Yoshino, editor in chief of The Baltimore Banner. “As part of that ongoing commitment, we are excited to announce what promises to be one of the most impactful events for the future of our region in fostering meaningful dialogue for our attendees, with a shared goal of moving our state into a more promising future.”

iMPACT MARYLAND will convene the most prominent minds locally, regionally, and nationally to serve as keynote speakers, as well as to participate in engaging and interactive panel discussions on various topics. Participants will discuss the city and state’s most urgent challenges to envision bold new ideas to transform the future of Maryland. Throughout the event, iMPACT MARYLAND will feature visionary keynote speakers, compelling panel discussions, storytelling sessions, and interactive Q&As.

  • Maryland Gov. Wes Moore. Schedule permitting, Gov. Moore will serve as a keynote speaker and join in a one-on-one conversation with Brian Stelter, Former CNN Anchor, Author of “Hoax”
