Gilbane Completes WHOOP’s New Global Headquarters in Boston

Gilbane Building Company is pleased to announce its successful completion of the 121,000-SF interior fit-out of the new global headquarters for WHOOP, located in the newly redeveloped Commonwealth Building at One Kenmore Square in Boston.

Founded in Boston in 2012, WHOOP offers industry-leading wearable technology for 24/7 health monitoring designed to optimize behavior, improve physiology and sleep, and create meaningful lifestyle changes. Having experienced significant growth, the new WHOOP headquarters is expected to bring jobs in engineering, data science, research and development, marketing, product design, talent and more to the One Kenmore Square development.

Over the course of the project, Gilbane’s partnership with WHOOP was taken to new heights, as team members were afforded the opportunity to utilize the WHOOP wearable technology.

“Through the WHOOP technology, our project team gained significant insights into our daily health and habits,” said Ramsey Dodge, senior project engineer for Gilbane. “Oftentimes, our team talked about our daily recovery and how the insights into our key biometrics helped improve our sleep habits and stress management. Overall, we’re now focused on recovery and have better skills to optimize performance.”

“Gilbane is thrilled to deliver this state-of-the-art headquarters for WHOOP, one in which we’re confident their team can thrive and continually innovate,” said Mike O’Brien, senior vice president and business unit leader for Gilbane in Massachusetts. “Our team seamlessly navigated the challenges associated with a complex project in an urban locale and is proud to have played a part in the WHOOP journey as a leading developer of next-generation wearable technology.”

“We are delighted to share the unveiling of our WHOOP global HQ at One Kenmore,” said Rob Case, Senior Vice President of Talent, WHOOP. “The dedication and contributions of our team have transformed WHOOP into a wearable industry leader. The launch of our headquarters underscores our growth and presents a dynamic new space for our team to innovate, continuing to deliver wearable technology that empowers our members to realize their potential.”

Designed by STUDIOS Architecture, with JLL acting as the owner’s project manager, WHOOP leases all eight office floors and a forthcoming first-floor retail space of the One Kenmore Square Building.  Amenities include a podcast studio, beverage bar, outdoor roof deck, apparel labs, and WHOOP Labs, a research and development facility.
