Esquire Deposition Solutions Appoints Barry Dark As CEO

Esquire Deposition Solutions LLC (Esquire) today announced the appointment of 35-year global legal services and technology veteran and current Esquire Executive Chairman Barry Dark as the company’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO). He succeeds Terrie Campbell, who has decided to retire as CEO and will serve as executive advisor to Dark and the company to ensure a seamless transition and the continued momentum of the business.

Dark brings a distinguished and proven track record of driving strong enterprise financial results and fostering an inclusive culture focused on high performance and customer service excellence in legal service and financial technology domains. He was named Esquire’s Executive Chairman after Gridiron Capital completed its investment in Esquire in December 2022. As Executive Chairman, Dark worked closely with Campbell and her leadership team to define the strategic direction for the company with a focus on key growth initiatives.

Previously, Dark was the CEO and a board member of Legility, a New Law company acquired by Consilio in December 2021 that provided global e-discovery and flexible legal talent services to corporate legal departments and law firms. Prior to working with Legility, Dark held senior executive roles at Fidelity National Information Services (NYSE: FIS), Capco Consulting, and Kordoba GmbH.

Dark stated, “We thank Terrie for her tremendous contributions and dedication to Esquire. During her eight years of exceptional leadership, she created a unique and dynamic culture that puts the customer first in every aspect of the business. As a result, I am grateful to have the opportunity to lead a company with a strong and sound foundation, well-planned strategic initiatives, and an amazing leadership team committed to consistently delivering high-value customer experiences. I look forward to working with Terrie as we continue to take Esquire along its successful trajectory of innovation, operational excellence, and strategic growth.”

Campbell joined Esquire as Chief Operating Officer in early 2015 with the goal of driving improved and consistent operating practices for the organization. As a result of her exceptional performance, she was appointed CEO at the end of 2015. She established the company’s mission, vision, and values dedicated to delivering premium client care and implemented an optimized organizational design driven by measurable orchestration of all areas within the company to achieve optimum effectiveness, allowing for true innovation within the court reporting and deposition services industry.

“Barry has the expertise and deep operating knowledge to successfully lead Esquire in this next phase,” Campbell said. “Having worked closely with him this past year, I am fully confident he will continue Esquire’s legacy of innovation, operational excellence, and strategic growth.  Esquire’s mission has not changed. We remain dedicated to preserving and protecting the sanctity of the record to ensure equal access to justice for all. I am extremely proud of the Esquire team and our court reporters. Esquire has earned the trust of our clients because of the entire organization’s commitment, professionalism, and enthusiasm. It has been my honor to lead this great team.”
