Alkegen Appoints Gaetan Borgers as President of the Battery Group

TONAWANDA (New York/USA) and IRVING (Texas/USA)–( BUSINESS WIRE )–Alkegen, a high-performance specialty materials company developing innovative solutions for the battery industry, today announced the appointment of Gaetan Borgers as President of the Battery Group .

Borgers, who was born and raised in Belgium, began his career in silicon chemistry at Dow Corning, where he played a key role in developing the company’s solar strategy and oversaw the introduction of innovative first-generation solar products. He later moved to Japan, where he focused on developing materials for lithium-ion batteries. Because of his technical expertise and commitment to sustainable energy solutions and clean technologies, Borgers was named executive vice president of Soitec’s solar division and president of Soitec USA, where he drove the development of concentrator photovoltaic systems. Borgers most recently held the position of Chief Commercial Officer at Nexeon,
