New Culinary Destination Coastal Bar & Grill Now Open

Guests are Invited to Discover a Taste of the Gulf Coast in the Heart of Roswell
Food enthusiasts can now embark on a delightful journey through Gulf Coast tastes and good times as Coastal has opened its doors in the space formerly occupied by legendary Houck’s Grille.
As the beloved restaurant transforms into the all-new Coastal, guests can expect a delectable menu that captures all the flavors the Gulf Coast has to offer as well as live music, dueling pianos, special events and more beginning this October.
“Coastal transports guests along a captivating expedition capturing the essence of the Gulf Coast’s cuisine, beverages and culture,” says Jerome Stuart, Coastal’s director of operations. “We have interwoven coastal living with the warmth of Southern hospitality to create a relaxed, inviting neighborhood destination, elevated by the ambiance of a beachside retreat, and a menu that transcends expectations.”
Guests are invited for daily culinary and beverage delights alongside special events like live music performances every Wednesday through Saturday. For loyal fans of Houck’s, there is no need to worry as Coastal’s menu features a medley of dishes they have loved for the past 35 years including Houck’s ribs and fried shrimp combo platters. The management and staff that patrons have come to know are also sticking around.
“Bill and Judy Houck have left an indelible legacy of exceptional food, memorable moments and top-notch service,” adds Stuart. “Coastal builds upon this legacy by introducing new culinary creations while paying homage to Houck’s classics.”
The new menu features modern takes on many Southern and Coastal favorites. Among the highlights are:
  • Baked goat cheese dip – topped with jalapeño-cilantro pesto and served with a trio of chips
  • Ray Bob – a Texas version of the Reuben with smoked corned beef brisket topped with horseradish slaw, Swiss cheese, and fried pickles on sourdough bread
  • Muffaletta flatbread – olive oil, mozzarella cheese, salami, mortadella, capicola, olive salad, and sesame seeds
  • Coastal bowl-of-the-day – Chef’s choice of the freshest ingredients that will include greens, grains, crisp veggies, and proteins topped with one of Coastal’s house-made dressings or sauces.
  • Thinly sliced fried catfish  this is a one-of-a-kind dish for the Metro Atlanta area made famous by Middendorf’s in Manchac, Louisiana. Served with Coastal’s soon-to-be famous grit puppies!
  • Costillas en Rojo – boneless beef short rib in a house-made mild and savory red sauce and served over cheesy grits, topped with pickled veggies, almonds, and a choice of side
  • Shrimp and grits – Coastal’s take on a Southern classic with fried shrimp swimming in a creole sauce with andouille sausage and the classic trinity of veggies. Served with Coastal’s special Mexican street corn (elote) off the cob
  • Bananas Foster banana pudding – a historic mash-up of two classic Southern favorites
