Dr. Sarah Lochner Joins Boca Helping Hands Board of Directors

Boca Helping Hands (BHH) has named Dr. Sarah Lochner to its Board of Directors to support the nonprofit’s work.

Originally from Ann Arbor, Michigan, Dr. Lochner completed medical school and her Internal Medical residency in Texas. Shortly after that, Dr. Lochner and her husband, David, relocated to Cleveland, where she practiced at the prestigious Cleveland Clinic Foundation.

After relocating to Florida in 2014 for her husband’s law career, Dr. Lochner learned of Boca Helping Hands. Since then, she has volunteered in a variety of capacities at BHH, holding roles at the food center, front desk, resource center, and warehouse.

Dr. Lochner has most impacted the Job Training Program. She played a critical role in developing the preventative health and nutritional component of BHH’s current strategic plan, with a related curriculum incorporated into Professional and Personal Development week, the first phase of the BHH Job Training Program.

Most recently, Dr. Lochner has worked closely with the Job Training Department as a Volunteer Community Liaison, where she identifies companies that align with BHH programs for potential partnerships. She looks for employers that can offer job placements and better prepare students to meet industry job requirements – and has leveraged her own professional experience and networks to bring on five new healthcare partners, including a local hospital and home health agencies to collaborate with BHH’s Certified Nursing Assistant, Home Health Aide, and Medical Billing & Coding Programs.

“We are delighted to have Dr. Lochner join the board of directors,” Greg Hazle, Executive Director of Boca Helping Hands, said. “She has been such an outstanding volunteer with our organization for years and has made such a difference for our clients. Her knowledge and talent will be an asset to the board.”
